LAST TANGO IN PARIS

The 1st photo was our last night in Paris. Early that morning we took the 6 hour bullet train from our home base in the village of Morlaas located in the low hills above the town of Pau in the South West of France.

Morlaas, the day before we headed back to Paris.

A Gite is a rental cottage common in the farms around Morlaas.

Looking out of our kitchen window,  Patty has a view of the hundreds of acres of cornfields that surround our Gite.

THE LAST OF PARIS...ALMOST

This pic reminds me of a ZZ TOP song!
PURPLE SOCKS, turquoise shoes and smiles all around. Click on pic to enlarge.

The prettiest woman in Paris!

How these Captains manage these  barrges thru the Siene not to mention the bridges with a 4 knot side drifting current is nerve racking.

SPAIN PART 2

I'D BE HARD PRESSED making a choice between France and Spain. Both have beautiful countrysides, majestic mountain ranges (they share them) towering history filled architecture, and fashion..and more fashion..to the 9's daily all day and all night.
Every time I'd pass a hospital or watch an ambulance go blaring by I'd think.."THAT'S FREE". But in the end it all comes down to the people and as different as the French and Spaniards may or may not be, I couldn't choose one over the other. Cities in both countries are ALIVE. I'd have to go with Paris on that point. It's crazy beautiful and the energy is always plugged in with the switch ON! Spain is right there also but WE  didn't have enough time in it's cities to draw an opinion. I'd say the people in Spain are more relaxed.
Like I said from the start... " I'D BE HARD PRESSED!

Did I mention surf? Lots and lots of it. Surf culture is thriving in both countries.

STOKED!
