JOHN STEINBECK wrote "Travels with Charlie" here. The first novel I read when I was 17 years old and the inspiration for our blog "Travels with Nugget and Rico."
Also "The Grapes of Wrath" which was made into a popular movie starring Henry Fonda.
The food on your dinner plate, in part, comes from California's Central Valley.

Tomorrow Patty and I hook up with old friends Bud and Cas Hedrick and Anne Haley. We go back 48 years beginning friendships seeded in our years in Hawaii.
